PIETER STROBOS – Business Director
Pieter is the Business Director for Process IQ. He completed his Bachelor and two Post-Graduate degrees in Metallurgy and Technology Management at the University of Pretoria. Pieter joined MINTEK South Africa holding various positions within the company prior to emigrated to Perth in 2000. He was the Principal agent for MINTEK in Australia for the next decade.
In 2011 Pieter co-founded Process IQ establishing MINTEK’s Advanced Control partner business in Asia Pacific. He is an active member of the AusIMM for the past 17 years and is on the committee for the AusIMM Metallurgical Society (MetSoc).
Pieter is also on the board of a number of other companies in the field of property development. He has been married for 24 years, and lives in Perth with his wife and 4 daughters.
DANIEL VAN DER SPUY – Technical Director
Daniel obtained his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (Control Systems) at Stanford University in 1999, having previously completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering at the University of Pretoria.
Daniel’s career in the minerals and metallurgical industry started off at Mintek South Africa, where he was employed for over 10 years and filled the position of Principal Process Control Engineer. Daniel emigrated to Australia in 2006. After doing some contract work, he co-founded Process IQ in 2011, where he is the Technical Director overseeing all operations relating to the company including technical aspects while providing a world-class service to at all times.
Daniel is on the committee for the World Gold Conference.
ADRIAN PAINE – Business Development Manager
Adrian brings over 25 years of experience in the process modelling to his position as Business Development Manager at Process IQ. Adrian started his career in the mid-eighties with Anglo American Corporation, spending time on Coal, Gold, Uranium and Sulphuric acid plants. He spent over 14 years in materials and manufacturing research with the CSIR (Council for Scientific and Industrial Research) relating to process development and finite element modelling. Adrian worked in Europe for 3 years for ESI Group. He gained a wealth of knowledge over 5 years in plant simulation with BHP Billiton, SimLogic and KWA Kenwalt. In his current position, Adrian focusses on all areas of physical and extractive metallurgy, casting simulation and foundry technologies, metal forming and simulation, process simulation and modelling and a variety of other marketing and consulting management tasks.
JAMES KO- Senior Solutions Architect
James achieved a Bachelor degree of Computer science with First class Honours, and a Master degree of Computer Science with chancellor commendation.
James has worked in multiple industry sectors and accumulated more than 18 years of experience in software technologies and solutions, including specialised applications in the minerals processing industry.
James focuses on establishing and evolving the Process IQ Industrial Internet-Of-Things (IIot) platform, integrating the solutions platform ubiquitously into the mining value chain and applying Artificial intelligence (AI) to optimise minerals processing plants.
ALEX ZHENG- Chemical Process Engineer
Alex has a Bachelor and Master’s degree in chemical engineering and has spent 4 years working for Curtin University completing Chemical Engineering research and has spent the last 2 years with Process IQ as a Process & Control Engineer.
STUART NUTTALL – Process Technology Consultant
Stuart studied Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering & Metallurgical Engineering at Murdoch University and was most recently partner of a Technology company based in Perth. Stuart’s role as Process Technology Consultant is focused on various commercial and technical aspects of the business.
TOM DODGSHUN – Instrumentation Engineer
Tom Dodgshun joined Process IQ in 2018. He has a strong background in instrumentation and control systems working as an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician in energy, mining and industrial sectors. He obtained an Advanced Diploma in Electrical & Instrumentation in 2014 prior to continuing his studies at Murdoch University.
GERHARD STROBOS – Technical Manager
As an Africa and International representative of Process IQ, Gerhard provides invaluable support to the mining industry in this region. In 2002, Gerhard gained his Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering Technology and holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) from the University of Pretoria, South Africa which he completed in 1997. Gerhard worked for the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research for 6 years on the commissioning of water treatment plants for industrial process water.
Over the past 10 years, Gerhard is actively involved in supporting Petra Institute which do capacity building for churches and NGO’s that work in Africa countries, refugee camps etc. Gerhard lives in Tanzania with his wife and newly born twins.
REINE KNOETZE- Senior APC Engineer
Reine (Ryan) Knoetze has two Bachelor degrees in both Chemical and Process Control Engineering, and has more than 14 years of experience implementing Advanced Process Control solutions.
PAULA CAIRNS – PA/Marketing Project Manager
Paula joined Process IQ in July 2016 in a dual role capacity – PA to the directors and Marketing Project Manager.
Prior to emigrating to Australia from the UK with her family in 2013, Paula was employed in the UK by Rockwell Automation for 15 years. During this time, and after numerous positions, Paula completed her Professional Certificate with the Chartered Institute of Marketing in 2007. Paula held the position of Communications Specialist for 7 years, gaining a wealth of knowledge on the marketing of industrial automation, including mining, metals and process industries. It was at this time she emigrated to Perth with her family.
CATHERIN BOUWER – Accounts
Catherin joined Process IQ in 2013 and is responsible for the management of all financial and accounting aspects of the company related to forecasting, reporting, payment and scheduling.
Catherin obtained her National Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting in 2006 after successfully completing an Accounting internship at a CPA firm for 3 years between 2000 and 2003.
